Shay Jones, LCSW/LICSW, MHP
My goal as a therapist is to help you recognize and build on your strengths while learning practical tools and strategies to address the challenges that are causing distress. Together, we’ll explore how your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and life experiences interact to shape behavior — and how these patterns may be keeping you stuck in unwanted cycles. Through this process, we work toward greater self-understanding, emotional balance, and more fulfilling ways of relating to yourself and others.
About me
I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology, followed by a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Walden University in 2019.
After graduation, I began my career with Telecare Community Alternative Outreach, where I provided clinical support, assessment, and treatment for adults in need of mental health stabilization during psychiatric hospitalization and in post-discharge care.
I then worked as an outpatient therapist with Greater Lakes Mental Healthcare, where I received specialized training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Grief Counseling, and Trauma-Informed Care, including work influenced by Polyvagal Theory.
In 2021, I transitioned into the role of Medical Social Worker with Landmark Health, a visiting provider group. In this position, I conducted psychosocial assessments and provided therapeutic support to patients with complex medical and emotional needs. I also received training in palliative care, facilitating end-of-life discussions and offering compassionate support to patients and their families.
These diverse clinical experiences — across inpatient, outpatient, and medical settings — have given me a broad understanding of the human experience and the many forms healing can take. Through it all, I’ve found the most fulfillment in my work as a therapist, which ultimately led me to open my private practice where I continue to help individuals grow, heal, and reconnect with themselves.
